Lors de la comparaison de deux chaussures différentes, il est important de comprendre que, malgré leurs différences extérieures, la forme intérieure joue un rôle essentiel dans l'obtention d'un bon ajustement.
Ci-dessous se trouve une comparaison entre deux chaussures Wholecut à titre d'exemple, toutes deux dans la même taille (42 EU).
Celle de gauche est fabriquée à l'aide du Last Zurigo (orteil arrondi), tandis que l'autre présente le Last Monti (orteil à chisel long).
Comme illustré, la forme d'orteil longue et étroite du last Monti crée un espace inutilisé plus important à l'avant du pied. L'espace devant l'orteil varie selon le type de chaussure et sa forme d'orteil.
Ainsi, bien que la chaussure de droite soit 1 cm plus longue (longueur totale mesurée du talon à la pointe de l'orteil), les deux chaussures partagent en effet la même taille réelle.
