Split Toe Derby is here!
You have been eager to see the introduction of the Split Toe Derby in our offerings, and it is with great pleasure that we announce its addition to our collection of luxury bespoke shoes for men.
The Split Toe is essentially a derby shoe characterized by its distinctive apron and a vertical stitch detailing at the toe tip. This unique feature enhances its casual appeal, making it a versatile piece suitable for various wardrobe styles, comparable to any other traditional derby shoe.
In recent years, the Split Toe Derby has surged in popularity, particularly within urban menswear, reflecting a sophisticated yet relaxed sensibility.
The origins of the Split Toe design are subject to discussion. One perspective suggests it originated in Norway, crafted for fishermen who required shoes capable of resisting water, hence its occasional designation as the Norwegian Derby. Alternatively, its emergence is attributed to England, where during the 1800s and early 1900s, shoes were designed for workers—known as navigational engineers or navvys—tasked with constructing infrastructure like channels and railways. These workers often operated in wet conditions, necessitating robust, water-resistant footwear. In the English context, it's frequently referred to as the Navvy Cut.
The new Split Toe Derby is now available on your 3D Designing platform. As always, this model can be customized through our Made-To-Order services or purchased in Wholesale Bulk, starting from small batches of 10 units per style.
