Sylvan Patina Wholecut II
Often considered the most formal men's shoe available, the Goodyear Wholecut features closed channel lacing and is made from a single cut of leather. This limited edition is made from high grade crust calf. The leather is hand painted and finished by our artisans with the astonishing sylvan cezanne patina texture. A green base with shades of eggplant, masterfully mixed using brushes and sponges. The pair features a cognac leather outsole, and black full-calf inner lining. It’s produced using our most famous shoe last, the Zurigo last, which features a round toe for a classic english look.

Why this costs what it does
11 days, not 11 hours
Every patina pair is hand-painted and oxidized over 11 days. Six to nine layers of dye, each one soaking in overnight before the next. Skip this and the color sits on the surface — and rubs off in a season.
What's actually inside
Genuine cork filler, not foam — it molds to your foot over the first 50 wears. A stacked leather heel, not injection-molded plastic. Hand-welted construction that can be resoled four or five times instead of thrown out.
Built to last, not to sell once
Most factory shoes are cement-bonded and can't be repaired. Ours are built to be resoled and re-welted for years — the cost reflects a shoe you'll own once, not replace every season.
