Similar to a slipper, the Belgian slipper often features a bow or tassel and has a top panel that provides a bit more structure to the shoe. With its seamless stitching, it is very popular in Europe and works well to maintain an elevated yet casual look.

Why this costs what it does

11 days, not 11 hours

Every patina pair is hand-painted and oxidized over 11 days. Six to nine layers of dye, each one soaking in overnight before the next. Skip this and the color sits on the surface — and rubs off in a season.

What's actually inside

Genuine cork filler, not foam — it molds to your foot over the first 50 wears. A stacked leather heel, not injection-molded plastic. Hand-welted construction that can be resoled four or five times instead of thrown out.

Built to last, not to sell once

Most factory shoes are cement-bonded and can't be repaired. Ours are built to be resoled and re-welted for years — the cost reflects a shoe you'll own once, not replace every season.
