We are pleased to announce an exciting update to our 3D Customization program with the addition of Hand Made Patina Belts.
You can now order these in three distinctive hand-painted patina finishes through your MTO platform: Regular, Marble, and Papiro. The image below exemplifies the elegant appearance of the Regular (blue), Marble (cognac), and Papiro (green) finishes.
The Art of Hand Made Patina: Antique Finishing Technique
The technique behind this remarkable artwork is known as ‘Anticatura’, a term derived from Italian that refers to antique finishing. This method is renowned among French maestro shoemakers.

The Anticatura process involves a meticulous hand dyeing procedure applied to leather, yielding a one-of-a-kind patina with an aged effect. Beginning with unfinished crust leather that has been tanned and treated but not yet dyed, this method enhances each piece's unique aesthetic.
Craftsmen manually apply dyes using white cloths, brushes, and sometimes sponges to both the uncut hide and fully assembled shoe, crafting a distinctive look for each pair of shoes.
